Doreen, the dog psychologist

Facts, figures and training

I am Doreen and was born in October 1985 in the former GDR. I live in Bexbach and am mom of a great 4 year old son. Like every little girl, I really needed a pet. Preferably a dog!… My parents, however, did not! So when I was about 8 years old I got my two dwarf rabbits “Hopsi” and “Mopsi”. That was of course a highlight, but the wish for a dog was still there. After I had borrowed all the neighbors’ dogs and had come up with an amazingly logical concept for life with a dog for my then 11 years, we finally got our first dog. “Dasty,” a West Highland White Terrier. With him I explored the whole world and we went together over hill and dale.

Then, when I got older, “Dasty” remained the family dog of my parents and I got “Ceasar”, a Czechoslovakian wolfhound, to join me. He was soon followed by “Maya”, a white German Shepherd and “Schatzi”, a Siberian Husky. All three of them lived with me in the USA, where I was able to gain a lot of experience of how dogs are kept and raised there. Those were very impressive and instructive years.

Back in Germany, and with the arrival of “Lucky” I began to turn my hobby into a profession. Lucky is now over 11 years and still accompanies me in my work. As a pensioner he may and wants to stay at home much more and Lucy, with her 2 years, then jumps in for him. In all the years with my dogs I have made countless experiences and attended many training courses and seminars:
